This site provides a realistic look at life and what the student or client can expect to deal with as they pursue life in the “real word.”  It gives different circumstances related to different occupations (approximately 40) and provides strategies and problem-solving skills for the student or client to develop.  Check it out—it allows you to play the games without purchasing them.

 

The Kids & Career Website for Elementary Students

This site has several different options to check out: Matching Game, Coloring Book, The Equity Game, and an Online Manual for Kids and Careers.

 Enterprise Village (Pinellas County’s 5th Grade Job Simulation)

Enterprise Village is a very realistic mini-city designed especially for fifth grade students to help them learn first-hand about the free enterprise system. By becoming involved in the curriculum activities and participating in the Enterprise Village experience, students will realize that economics is important in their lives and that learning about economics can be a joy. 

 Career Biographies

Gives facts about a given career and provides a personal narrative from somebody already working in that job.  Great for kids around 9 or 10.

Career Cruiser

Developed by the Florida Department of Education, this site offers information about a wide range of occupations, nontraditional careers and apprenticeships, and provides activities that allow students to explore their interests and goals and practice financial planning.
