The purpose of this virtual career laboratory is to provide a venue for
exploration of quality online career resources that pertain to
self-assessment, career information, career searches and job preparation. Our
hope is that this site will serve the community, aid in training counseling
students by providing experience with online career resources, and provide the
career counseling profession with information about the effectiveness of these
type of resources through research.
The laboratory also addresses NCDA's
Need for Research and
Review
"Since the use of the Internet is new
for the delivery of career planning and counseling services, it is mandatory
that the career counseling profession gain experience with this medium and
evaluate its effectiveness through targeted research
(NCDA Guidelines for the Use of the Internet for Provision of Career
Information and Planning Services,
http://www.ncda.org/, retrieved 3/12/03)."
