Ethel offers a good idea here... one that warrants more consideration... for me, Ethel, the vital question is how would you suggest we go about getting such a group organized. I eagerly will await your suggestions especially as they relate to the persons on this list serv as we need to move from good ideas to pragmatic action with deliberate speed given the results of the presidential election.

So please elaborate further regarding the pragmatic implementation of your suggestion.

In the meantime I will offer a couple of suggestions. The NIMC group can integrate your idea when offering its National Tour entitled, "Promoting Multicultural Competence and Social Justice" and announce/invite others to contact you about volunteering time and energy to develop this group when we coordinate our Town Hall/Plenary meetings at future APA/ACA conventions and other meetings. Are you in a position to coordinate the development of a new group called "Psychologists for a Decent Congress" and would my suggestions be helpful in assisting you on this endeavor?

Another suggestion I have is for you to contact 10 persons in the Peace Psychology Division of APA who would be interested in joing the expanded NIMC gorup and help in our national planning and implementation initiatives (e.g., future Town Hall/Plenary meetings, developing an electronic newsletter, participating in the NIMC's National Tour to Promote Multicultural Competence and Social Justice, and collaborating in the development and implementation of a "National Dialogue on Race, Peace, and Social Justice."

Please let me know what your think you can do to assist us in implementing concrete action strategies that help to realize your suggestion or those I have outlined above.
