An intense study of psychodiagnosis of mental disorders was conducted last June in Guatemala under the auspice of the Psychology Department of the Universidad del Valle in Guatemala City. This event, presented by Dr. Carlos Zalaquett, emphasized the importance of multicultural counseling, social justice and advocacy on behalf of those suffering from psychological problems. Auspiciada por el Departamento de Psicología de la Universidad del Valle se condujo en el mes de Junio de este año en la Ciudad de Guatemala una intensa jornada de estudios acerca del psicodiagnóstico de desórdenes mentales. Este evento, liderado por el Dr. Carlos Zalaquett, recalcó la importancia de enmarcar nuestro trabajo dentro de los conceptos de consejería multicultural, justicia social, y de defensa de aquellos que sufren de problemas psicológicos.
Dr. Zalaquett received a certificate of recognition from Licenciada Maria del Pilar Grazioso de Rodríguez, Dean of the College. During his visit, Dr. Zalaquett was named Visiting Professor and Consultant for the Psychology Program. El Dr. Zalaquett recibe un certificado de reconocimiento de manos de la Decano de la Facultad, Licenciada Maria del Pilar Grazioso de Rodríguez. Durante su estadía el Dr. Zalaquett fue nombrado Profesor Visitante y Consultor del Programa de Psicología.
Dr. Zalaquett was featured in the January 2005 issue of the American Psychological Association's APA Monitor in Psychology.
