Above all, this is a great resource both for helpers and those needing help.

This screen is very beneficial.  With all the times I and others have been to the doctor nothing is ever brought up about your breathing or the way you should or shouldn’t.  It seems to me if we all learned better breathing techniques we would be a whole lot healthier.  Physical Education would be a great place to start.

C. S.

I am glad if no lucky that I came across with your counseling information accessibility. Your clear and simple way of helping a person, an student or another professional unable to share, express the anxiety, fear, panic feelings of failing to past a test/exam for the first time is/was traumatic. If all student were to have an orientation on the subject they help me most if not all your or any student that comes across with your inf. will graduate with honors.

I am a senior BSN nursing student at KSU. I have learned to relax whenever I can. It is so important to take time for yourself. I just sit down in my room and listen to my body. I relax every part of my body from my toes to me eyes.

It really helps me to focus better on my studies when I have done this. Thanks for some more tips and alternatives!!!!!

A.

Thank you for this page. I'm sure if lots of people know about it, it will help them to breath easily. The proper breathing helped me during the process of delivering my two kids.

Permission to link to ~counsel/study_skills.html is requested.  In developing a web site for our University, I have surfed many sites looking for the most comprehensive, detailed or commanding site instead of reinventing the wheel.  Among the 7 I have selected, yours will probably be the most effective in getting the attention and presenting a structured lesson.  Your consideration for permission to link is appreciated. Thank you.

Dear Dr. Zalaquett,

I was searching for information about test anxiety, and I stumbled across your excellent and informative pages.  I first wish to congratulate you on this excellent web resource.

The reason for my search is that I am involved in a testing program for the company I work for, which is an over-the-phone interpretation company.  We are currently planning to implement a test to evaluate interpreters' abilities in different settings, and many interpreters have expressed that they are feeling some level of stress regarding the test.

The majority of the information provided by you is directly applicable to the needs of the interpreters, and therefore I would like to make this information available, if possible.

I am writing to request your permission to reproduce this material and distribute it to them, if this would be agreeable to you, of course.  I would add a disclaimer that would mention that this is property of the author (you), and that the information is being reproduced with your permission.

Thank you so much for your wonderful writings, and I wish you a very good day!

Hello Dr. Zalaquett,

First, I would like to thank you for providing two extremely informative web pages, "Short Relaxation Techniques", and "Relaxation Techniques".  The information and instructions you provide on these pages are comprehensive, and easy to follow.

The muscle relaxation technique, in my opinion is an excellent technique because most people are not aware when they are tensing up and under stress.

By practicing the muscle relaxation technique the individual is able to feel and understand what it is to be tense and what it is to be relaxed.  Once they recognize this sensation they can better identify when they are becoming stress and can thus shorten their amount of stress by going into a more relaxed state of body and mind.

I am hoping that you will allow me to share this information with an individual who is interested in relaxation techniques and stress management.
