EME 6930 Prog Lang Ed: VBART
On-Line Sample Eval Assignment Solutions

These are the on-line versions of the EVALn.EXE programs in the VBART6S.ZIP file. You can run those programs locally on your computer, or you can run them over the Web from this site. This is an example of how VB programming knowledge can be leveraged to WWW programing. With a few exceptions, these are the same programs as the ones in VBART6S.ZIP, they have just been converted into ActiveX documents. One notable exception is Menu Options -- they just don't appear to work the way they are supposed to, so I had to add a button or two here and there to make up for that. See some important installation information below.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Since these pages use ActiveX technology, to install and view them:
1) You must use Microsoft's Internet Explorer browser software, version 3 or later.
2) The first time you view a given page, you may need to lower your browser's security level in order for it to install an unsigned ActiveX control. Afterward installation you should immediately return to a higher security level.  During installation, dialogue boxes will appear asking if you are certain that you wish to download these unsigned ActiveX objects. Say yes or you won't be able to view the programs. If you can't trust me, who can you trust? A final note: your browser must be configured to play *.avi files in order to view the 'help' movie in Eval11. Installing MSIE 4 or higher should take care of it.
3) The online version of Eval7 attempts to write a data file on your Desktop at c:\windows\desktop.  If you are using Windows XP (or possibly NT/2000), Microsoft moved your Desktop elsewhere, so an error will occur.  Just click your browser's refresh button.
