What is the Invitational Summer Institute?

The Invitational Summer Institute is at the core of the Tampa Bay Area Writing Project (TBAWP).  Applicants who are selected to participate will receive six (6) semester credit hours at the graduate level and a textbook; tuition will be paid by the Tampa Bay Area Writing Project. Outstanding area teachers at all grade levels engage in extensive writing experiences and reflect on their own writing in the 5 week institute.  These teachers are acknowledged for their own expertise in the teaching of writing, and become teacher leaders by conducting in-service presentations.  Graduates of the Invitational Summer Institute become members of an elite cadre of Teacher Consultants throughout the nation.
