The SLAIT program has equipped me with academic knowledge and enriched me personally. This first year introduced me to the challenges of investigating the works of renowned scholars in the fields of second language acquisition and foreign language education, as well as the role of technology in these disciplines. I am excited to experience the quenching of my thirst for knowledge about language learning and the integration of technology.

Our faculty has both guided and encouraged me to work in pursuit of scholarly excellence. Friendly and interested, they are easy to approach and take time to direct me. I consider it a privilege to study in a program that boasts so many international students and faculty. The SLA/IT program first attracted me because of its unique combination of Educational Foundations, Second Language Acquisition, and Instructional Technology.  I find technology to be constantly and satisfyingly interwoven into my personal and professional life, and I believe that learning to use technology as a tool in both the practice and research of SLA will enable me to stay on the cutting edge of the field.

One of the reasons that I choose the SLAIT program is the emphasis on technology. It has allowed me to combine my love of teaching the French language and new technologies to make my classes more interactive, exciting and appealing to students. It has also given me an outlet to teach pre-service and in-service educators the proper methods of technology integration.
