Assistantships

Please visit: http://www.coedu.usf.edu/schoolpsych/Financial_Aid/financial_aid.htm

Assistantships are worked out individually with your supervisor, so exact times during the week will vary by student.  Each student who has an assistantship usually gets nine in-state credits of tuition waivers.

In the past, students have received full tuition waivers in the fall and spring semesters.  In the summer, students have received full tuition waivers as well, but many students received half assistantships. This will vary from year-to-year based on the budget. Because there are fewer summer assistantships, it is important to budget accordingly throughout the year or to talk to the professors or students about other options for financing oneself in the summer.

You will receive your assistantship assignments in the beginning of August. Please contact the School Psychology program specialist when you arrive in Tampa for information abotu signing your offer letter. If you are not available early, you will sign your offer letterand complete you rnew hire paperwork during orientation week.

Assistantships also come with Student Health Care, please see the Health Insurance section for more details.

  • You will need a voided check, your address, and your local telephone number for direct deposit.
