Student Honors

Omega Russell, a first year doctoral student was named a member of the USF Graduate School Doctoral Leadership Institute.

"It is an honor and a privilege to be accepted into the inaugural class of the USF Doctoral Leadership Institute.I am delighted to embark upon a two year leadership journey with a diverse group of highly accomplished and motivated fellows. As a leadership fellow I will have access to leadership classes, professional development workshops, and leadership mentors. In our first semester, with the guidance of a leadership mentor, the fellows create a unique leadership plan specific to their discipline. Throughout the duration of the two year institute, the leadership plan isrefined and implemented. At the culmination of our first semester in the institute, leadership fellows are granted an audience with education legislators in Washington D.C. As a future school psychologist, I look forward to acquiring the leadership skills necessary to increase collaboration among the systems of community, school and family in order to better serve the needs of students from diverse backgrounds."
