College Level Academic Skills Test (CLAST), General Knowledge Test (GK), and Florida Teacher Certification Examination (FTCE) Information

CLAST and General Knowledge Test

I, , understand that I must successfully complete all required parts of the General Knowledge Test prior to my final internship. I also understand that I must submit all passing scores of the required General Knowledge Test to my advisor in EDU 106 no later than 5:00 pm on the Friday after the Summer graduation date.  I further understand that if I do not pass all sections of the General Knowledge Test prior to my final internship, I will not begin my final internship for the semester I applied.

I also understand that I must submit all passing scores of the required CLAST to my advisor in EDU 106 no later than 5:00 pm on the Friday after the Summer graduation date.  I further understand that if I do not pass all sections of the CLAST prior to my final internship, I will not begin my final internship for the semester I applied.

NOTE:  Undergraduate students, please submit a copy of your passing CLAST or General Knowledge Test scores to your advisor in Student Academic Services in EDU 106 so that your file can be updated.  Graduate students need to submit their test scores to the College of Education, Graduate Studies Office in EDU 106. 

Please DO NOT ATTACH your CLAST or General Knowledge Test scores to this application.  Failure to follow these directions could result in a delay in your approval for graduation.

Florida Teacher Certification Examination (FTCE)

 I, , understand that the successful completion of the Florida Teacher Certification Examination (FTCE) is part of the final internship requirements.  I must take BOTH the Professional Education and Subject Area sections (for secondary undergraduate students please be reminded that your subject area test is ONLY the 6-12 subtest)  and receive passing scores PRIOR to the completion of my final internship before I can receive a satisfactory grade for final internship and graduate.  I further understand that I will receive an incomplete (I) grade, if passing scores are not received by the end of my final internship.  (NOTE: REQUIRED FOR ALL UNDERGRADUATE and GRADUATE INTERNS.)

In the space provided, indicate the date you took or will be taking the FTCE .

Graduate level students please contact your program advisor to determine which subject area test you are required to take for your specific major.

NOTE:  Please indicate on your FTCE Registration Application that a copy of your score results should be sent to the University of South Florida.  To ensure that we have received your passing scores, please contact the Internship Office at (813) 974-1804. (Please note that for Graduate Students, a copy of the General Knowledge Test or CLAST scores must still be sent to the Graduate Studies Office in EDU 106.)
