Interstate Agreement on Qualification
of Educational Personnel
Effective October 1, 1997
Florida participates in the Interstate Agreement on Qualification of Education Personnel with the following states:
1. Teacher
"Teacher" means a person whose primary function is to provide instruction in a school for preschool, elementary, middle, or secondary students.

2. Support Professional
"Support Professional" means a person, other than a teacher or administrator, who is required to hold a certificate based upon not less than a baccalaureate degree; such as educational media specialist, guidance counselor, school psychologist, school social worker, etc.

3. Administrator
"Administrator" means a person, other that a teacher or support professional, who is required to hold a certificate based upon a master's degree or higher and who provides supervision in a school or school district, such as a principal, assistant principal, curriculum supervisor, etc.

An applicants eligibility for certification based on the Interstate Agreement Contract will be determined after an individual submits a completed application for Florida Educator's Certification.
