EFFECTIVE July 1, 2002: Mastery of Subject Area Knowledge (specialization requirements) can be met EITHER by passing the Subject Area Exam OR by meeting these course-by-course requirements.

Florida Teacher Certification Requirements
Business Education (Grades 6-12)

 (2)    Plan Two:    Analysis

Thirty (30) semester hours in business education to include the areas specified below:

  1. Accounting

  2. Economics

  3. Computer Science

  4.  Business communications or composition above the freshman level

  5. Business Law

            Electives:  Management, Marketing, Finance, etc.

Plus Special Methods:  The University of South Florida no longer offers a special course for teaching business education. Contact St. Petersburg College for information about their online course (727) 712-5418.

REQUIREMENT:   2.5 GPA (in the 30 hours)
