STAGES Spotlight on Quentin

STAGES is better than High School, because you don't have to stay in a classroom all day.
In September, I started job training at the USF Recreation Center. I liked it. Then I worked at the Patel Charter School with Mr. Lawrence. I was a custodian and sometimes I helped in the cafeteria. Now I am working with Dot Monroe in the Recycling department. It is good to work there because you get to go to buildings you've never seen inside. Also, this school year I have applied with Hillsborough County School system as a substitute custodian. My last job training was with Burger King at USF.
I have met new friends being here at USF. I like to watch action and adventure movies. I also love to play video games.
My goal is to get a job so I can live on my own.

From the parent: "Quentin has learned how to ride the bus by himself. He has learned to be on time, call if he is not coming to school or going to work. I feel when he is with Ms. Gigi and Ms. Dora that as a parent I have nothing to worry about. He now has a future that is bright and he does not have to ever look back. Quentin has a future he can look forward to. Quentin has self-esteem he will never lose."
