STAGES
Spotlight on Joey

My name is Joey. I graduated from Gaither High School and started STAGES in the Summer of 2005.
I like watching football, my favorite team is the Buffalo Bills. I also like hockey and baseball. I like riding my moped around the neighborhood.
I currently work at Publix off of Dale Mabry and Cross Creek. I finally have a paying job! I started in September 2006. I am bagging, taking out garbage, and I go out and get carts. I do everything they tell me to do. I love this job because I can see different people each day. Sometimes, I see famous people like Craig Ramsey and Ruslan Redotenko.
While at STAGES, I learned how to plan my day using a planner, and I job trained at Shriners Hospital. I am better with the computers, I walked around campus and met people.
My goals are to help others people with disabilities. I hope to learn how to ride my bike to work and back by myself. I want to learn how to read better.
My advice to the new students: the most important thing is to listen to the teachers because they know the best for you guys. Keep your cell phone off during class time.
Hallelujah, STAGES. Good-bye.

From the parents: "STAGES has been a wonderful experience for Joey. He has accomplished many things he didn't realize he could do, such as ride a city bus and use a computer. I believe this program has really made a difference for Joey and his self-confidence. Thanks to all of you who worked so hard to make STAGES a successful program. We are proud of you, Joey!"
