I had many different types of interviews. I’ve been employed at Subway located at USF Campus since September 2, 2008. This is my last year
at STAGES. What I like about STAGES is I got to work at different jobs and see which one I like the best. The job that I like the best was Bright Horizon because I got to work with kids.
I am the Director of the Best Buddies group for STAGES. I went to Indiana with Rafia and Mike for the Best Buddy Conference. I am the first person to represent the STAGES program at the Best Buddy Conference.
From the parents: When Traci interviewed at STAGES, I was asked to list specific goals for my child. At the top of the list was my desire for Traci to learn to socialize because Traci had a difficult time making friends. Since her introduction to Best Buddies through the STAGES program, my daughter has become involved and there is no stopping her now. Traci enjoys activities and friendships and her self-perception and quality of life have both improved. My second concern was for Traci to become a gainfully employed, tax paying, self-supporting member of society. Since her involvement with STAGES she has learned to live independently with a roommate, maintain a job at Subways and budget her money. Thirdly is the issue of transportation. I feel that every
student who has learned how to use public transportation has gained a large part of being independent. Thank you Ms. Gigi, Ms. Dora, Mark Sheppard, Dr. Cranston and all the dedicated people who are involved with this wonderful program.
