Pre-Education Change of Major
For students outside the College who are seeking to change his or her major to Pre-Education:
- Follow the procedures your current college has in place for changing your major out of that particular college (e.g. Arts and Sciences, Visual and Performing Arts, Business, etc). Please explore links below to find out what those procedures are.
- Bring change of major form (if any is required by former college) and any student file the former college has given (if any is provided by former college) to the Pre-Education Advising Office in DAC 107 located in the College of Education's Rotunda.
- Complete the Pre-Education Advising "Student Information Sheet."
- Submit those materials to the Pre-Education receptionist.
- Upon reception of these items, the advising staff will review your academic history and standing for potential admission eligibility (GPA, credit hours, missing prerequisites, etc) into the expressed degree specialization.
- Eligible students will be recoded to Pre-Education and directed to an Advising Session.
- Student not eligble will be informed and redirected to seek Career Counseling to assist with the selection of an alternative major.
For students currently coded as Pre-Education who are seeking to change his or her major out of Pre-Education:
- Go to the new College in which you wish to declare your major, follow any guidelines in place by that College for declaring your major, and declare your major.
- There is no exit documentation required to be completed in changing your major out of Pre-Education.
