Research Methods Workshops
Click here for info on IRB Training Sessions
In our efforts to build the research capacity
of our College, we are continuing
a series of brief workshops designed to introduce (or re-introduce!)
faculty and graduate students to contemporary issues in research
methods. These brief (2 to 3 hour) workshops, held on Friday afternoons,
are provided at no cost to College faculty and graduate students.
Topics are presented
in easily accessible formats (i.e., lay person's language),
providing sufficient information for participants to judge the
utility of the methods for their work, and are augmented
with recommended references for those who wish to pursue further,
detailed inquiry. Potential topics for the workshop series
include:
- Hierarchical Linear Models
- Factor Analysis
- Secondary Data Analysis
- Structural Equation Modeling
- Computerized Data Collection
To determine the topics of interest
among our faculty and graduate students (to guide the
selection of workshop topics), an interest inventory was distributed
to all faculty. Click on Interest
Survey to see the results of the survey! These results serve as a resource to determine the topics for future
workshops.
