Assessments and Results
In a continuing effort to improve both graduate and undergraduate education, the College of Education at the University of South Florida evaluates the performance of its students and alumni in school districts on an annual basis. Instruments that are administered at the college (or unit) level are provided below. Individual programs often employ other instruments or tools that are custom tailored for the assessment of specialized professional preparation.
In addition to the regular assessment of our students and graduates, the College has established an Assessment and Continuous Improvement Committee to implement and monitor assessment and quality enhancement efforts across the college.
Below are links to the assessments administered unit-wide, and a sample of results:
Initial teacher preparation (ITP) programs include both undergraduate and MAT degrees.
Technology Assessment System |
As part of the larger unit assessment system, a technology assessment system has been developed and implemented with a view toward better integration of technology into teaching and learning to help candidates and faculty meet the expectations of NCATE and state standards, as well as to inform the unit’s planning and budgetary needs. Faculty in the Department of Measurement and Research and Instructional Technology, including the Director of Assessment have developed a number of surveys designed to gather data from faculty, initial teacher preparation candidates and school based personnel. The surveys, piloted in fall 2004 and spring 2005, incorporated the ISTE Essential Conditions for effective integration of technology, and the ISTE standards for teachers.
