TAMPA (November 1, 2005) - Keri Guilbault, Master’s student in Special Education and the current Assistant Gifted Children's Program Coordinator in USF’s College of Education, has been recognized by a national award from the National Association for Gifted Children (NAGC). Guilbault will receive her award at the National NAGC Convention, which will be held Friday, November 11 in Louisville, KY.
Guilbault was nominated for the award by Dr. Elizabeth Shaunessy, faculty member in Special Education, and will receive one of two national student awards for Non-Doctoral Graduate Students in Gifted Education. Criteria for the award include the faculty nomination, letters of recommendation, and a submission of other materials by the nominee. She has leadership and volunteer experience at the local, state, national and international levels with American Mensa (as the national Assistant Gifted Children’s Program Chair), the Children’s Advanced Learning Institute (as former Director of Education), the Florida Gifted Network, and with Florida public schools as a member of the Seminole County Public Schools Gifted Advisory Committee.
