Advanced Graduate Handbook

Ph.D. Program Structure

The following outline describes the general structure of the Ph.D. program in Curriculum and Instruction with a concentration area. The cognate is an area of study that is outside, but supportive of, the major concentration area. All programs must include at least one supervised practicum/field experience. All credit hours listed represent minimum requirements. Programs may require additional hours as deemed appropriate.

At least 12 hours must be at the 7000 level or in 6000 level courses for which advanced graduate standing is a prerequisite.  At a minimum, a supervised, 1-3 hour field experience (e.g., practicum) in the concentration area is to be included
