Faculty Mentoring Program (NFMP)

Welcome to the faculty mentoring program sponsored by
USF's College of Education! We want to support the scholarly
development of new faculty and help them to succeed. Dean
Colleen Kennedy, departmental chairs, the Associate Dean for Academic Affairs Harold Keller,
and faculty members will work together to ensure that this is
a helpful process. We are excited that you are here and
are eager to get to know you!
Goal: to support scholarly development
of new faculty and their successful integration within a new
academic culture.
Background:
NFMP is a takeoff on two existing programs: Christine
Probes' CAS Mentoring Program for new faculty and Carol Mullen's
faculty mentoring progam, sponsored by AERA.
Matching Process:
Incoming junior faculty members on the Tampa and regional campuses
will have access to two faculty mentors -- a senior tenured
scholar in your unit and one from outside (in the COEDU or possibly
another college).

To assist Dr. Harold Keller in the matching process, please
complete the Learning Goals Form and return to Dr. Keller
as indicated on the form: Word

Mentoring Relationship: Focus will be on your
agenda in any and all of the areas in which you need support.
Relevant areas include:
- Research, teaching and service roles
- Scholarly writing and manuscript development
- Conference and grant proposal writing
- Networking and cultural or social dynamics
- Planning and preparing for annual or mid-tenure review
