USF's Gifted Education MA program is transitioning from an end-of-program portfolio evaluation to an ongoing electronic portfolio evaluation process. Students admitted to the MA program in 2005 and beyond will be required to maintain an E-Portfolio Account and submit required Critical Tasks during the semester in which these assignments are assigned.
Training and support for using the E-Portfolio system will be provided both on campus and for distance-learners who choose to complete this process off campus. The Coordinator of Gifted Education will provide an overview of the Critical Tasks to new MA students. Students must maintain E-Portfolio accounts throughout their coursework.
As part of the periodic accreditation reviews by NCATE and the FDOE that the College of Education (COE) at the University of South Florida must undergo, the COE must present samples of student work. The purpose of the samples is not to judge individual students; the purpose is to provide examples of the types of assignments COE students complete. Selected student e-portfolios or artifacts from portfolios will be electronically archived for presentation to the accreditation team visiting in the spring of 2006. So that faculty may select and archive student e-portfolios and artifacts as needed, we ask that you complete and return this release form.
