Dear Colleague: This WebQuest will allow students to work together using internet research, textbook, power point presentation and their own creative imagination. Students will be able to look at life in the Middle Ages and see the differences in society between today and the Middle Ages.
Unit
Summary:
Goals/Objectives: Students will
understand the difficulties of living in the Middle Ages.
NCSS Theme: Individual, Groups and
Institutions.
State Standard:
Days: 7 days (50 minutes)
Content: Students will research the
different social and political levels of life in the Middle Ages. They will
learn by using prior knowledge, powerpoint presentation, book readings and
webquest research.
Methods: Lecture,
group discussions, teacher presentations, student presentations, WebQuest and
co-operative journal entries.
WebQuest Summary:
Goals/Objectives:
1. Students will research, in groups, specific jobs and social
groups in the Middle Ages, to determine life styles.
2. Students will complete, in groups, a written report for the teacher.
3. Students will complete, in groups, an oral presentation for the class.

Content:
Students will explore several websites and analyze life styles and hardships of
the Middle Ages.
Methods:
Explore the internet to gain knowledge and produce and write a written and oral
presentation.

(5 groups of 5 students each) Compile groups prior knowledge about what each student knows about the jobs/social groups in the Middle Ages. Group Lecture Power Point Presentation on Middle Ages Power Point Slides Group Discussion Groups will discuss what they know and have learned today.

Textbook Group Assignment Students will choose roles for completing the webquest and pick, at random a role or job. Researcher, recorder, writer and reporter.

Conclusion: Students will learn to use the internet to help them discover what life was like in the Middle Ages. They will work in cooperative groups and learn to work as a team member for a group grade.
