Non Degree Admission
You can apply and enroll as a non-degree seeking or graduate certificate student until your test results are received and can be considered for admission.

Testing |
|
The GKT is the test you should take for formal admission. The GKT online does NOT include the essay portion of the exam. We recommend you take the paper/pencil GKT, rather than taking the online version and then have to take the essay separately.
CLAST Score Information. If you have taken the CLAST while previously an undergraduate, it may be used to enter the program, but you would still need the GKT to graduate.
The GRE can be taken if you are not in Florida and, therefore cannot take the GKT conveniently.
Please submit your degree-seeking application only after your GKT or CLAST scores are on file with the COE Graduate Office. Contact
Ms. Judy Oltz oltz@tempest.coedu.usf.edu to verify receipt of scores. |

FTCE Scores
Unless your GKT scores (they are considered part of the FTCE scores) appear on the official transcript in the COEDU Graduate Office, you must provide an ORIGINAL of the scores to the Graduate Office.
Even if you request the State to send your FTCE scores (Professional Exam and SSE Subject area exam) to USF, YOU MUST PROVIDE an ORIGINAL to the COEDU Student Academic Services Office (EDU 106). When you receive your passing scores in the mail from the FTCE office, you will receive two ORIGINAL "score reports" [your score report will be perforated in half, providing two originals]. Keep one of these originals for your files and provide the other original to the COEDU Student Academic Services Office either by:
- sending it via the U.S Post Office Certified Mail/ Delivery Confirmation to
Dr. Diane Briscoe,
EDU 106
College of Education
The University of South Florida
4202 E. Fowler Ave.,
Tampa FL 33620-5650
[Keep your Delivery Confirmation receipt]
or
- delivering it in person to the COEDU Student Academic Services Office (EDU 106). If you choose to deliver it by hand, have a person in the office sign a piece of paper that you prepared beforehand indicating, "I have received the original copy of --YOUR Name's--official FTCE scores" and then have the person print their name, sign, and date the piece of paper (keep this in your files).
