Chalk & Wire is only a requirement for BA and MAT students, as it is related to Teaching Certification requirements. Therefore, this does not apply to M.Ed., Graduate Certificate, and non-degree seeking students.
As a nationally and state-approved program, the Foreign Language and ESOL Education Program of the USF College of Education (COEDU) has established critical tasks that students must satisfactorily complete. These critical tasks are aligned with the Preprofessional Benchmarks for the Accomplished Practices. A number of required COEDU courses (not courses in other colleges) will have assignments identified as Critical Tasks.
The ONLY process by which you will meet the reporting requirements is the creation of an ePortfolio and you will be required to use the software Chalk and Wire. COEDU offers a full support system of seminars, e-mail inquiries, a walk-in help center, and phone assistance to assist you in learning the system and completing the ePortfolio. Also, and most importantly, please review the FLE/ESOL ePortfolio Policies Form and be sure to meet all deadlines and expectations. You need to electronically sign and submit a copy of the FLE/ESOL ePortfolio Form to your ePortfolio to show that you are in agreement with the FLE/ESOL Program conditions.
See Chalk & Wire Set up instructions for a step by step guide to setting up your FLE/ESOL Chalk & Wire ePortfolio.
