James A. White professes Instructional Technology and also serves as Coordinator of Graduate Studies for The Department of Secondary Education. He designed and continues to coordinate the Ph.D. Program in Curriculum and Instruction with Emphasis in Instructional Technology. He has served at the univeristy level for 21 years, is former Director of the Florida Center for Instructional Computing (FCIC), a funded research and service institute at USF, and taught grades 8-12 mathematics and computer studies for 5 years.

His scholarly and teaching interests center on instructional technology research methods and instrumentation. He has authored or co-authored numerous journal articles, conference papers, and books. In addition, he has participated in many different scholarly grants and contracts, among them both the first and second IBM model school projects (1983-1985) and late IBM Grant Program for the Colleges of Education (1989).
