Professional Experience
Dr. Kennedy joined USF in June of 2003 from the University of Utah where she was Dean of the Graduate School of Education (now College of Education) from 1989 to 1999. Dr. Kennedy was also a professor in the Department of Teaching & Learning at Utah. Here at USF Dr. Kennedy serves as the Dean of the College of Education, and she is also involved in the classroom as a professor in the Instructional Technology Program, which is housed in the Department of Secondary Education.
Dr. Kennedy’s distinguished career in education began more than 30 years ago, and her interests include factors that facilitate and hinder the acquisition and use of technology among teachers. More generally, her research interests include studying how technology is being used in K-12 education. Dr. Kennedy sees the USF College of Education as a place that “embraces diversity and offers programs that provide the intellectual stimulation and challenge they seek as future educators, scholars, professionals, and leaders.”
