Background
Dr. Patricia L. Daniel is currently an Associate Professor of English Education. She is the Director of the Tampa Bay Area Writing Project. She teaches Methods of Teaching English for Middle School at Thomas E. Weightman Middle School, a Professional Development School with USF.
Teaching
Prior to her appointment to USF, Dr. Daniel taught Language Arts in the middle school for twelve years in Oklahoma and taught Language Arts Education for a total of five years at the University of Houston-Victoria and Western Kentucky University .
Research and Publications
Dr. Daniel has written journal articles published in English Journal, Language Arts, Teaching and Change, Equity and Excellence in Education, Florida Reading Quarterly, and The Journal of Staff Development. She has written chapters, including "Rights of Passage: Preparing Gay & Lesbian Youth for Their Journey into Adulthood" in Family Issues: Helping Adolescents Through Literature and chapters in Adolescent Literature as a Complement to the Classics, Volumes 2, 3, 4 , and Identity Issues: Using Literature to Help Troubled Teenagers
