Prospective Students
Prospective students are individuals that express strong interest in our College Student Affairs, M.Ed program. We encourage students to explore our website to decide on whether The University of South Florida is a good fit. If so, the next step is to become an applicant and begin the admissions process for our program.
Admissions Process
Admission to the University of South Florida's College Student Affairs, M.Ed program includes:
1) The submission of all application material
2) Interview with the CSA program staff and/or students
3) Interview with a Graduate Assistantship provider
Once these three items have been completed, applicants will be notified of their admissions status.
Please visit the Application Process for a more detailed description of our Admissions Process.
Also, see our Application Checklist to access all necessary application information.
Graduate Assitantships
A Graduate assistantship is a part-time working experience in a functional area of student affairs. Since our CSA, M.Ed program is primarily focused on student affairs practice, each CSA applicant must obtain a graduate assistantship or be a full-time student affairs employee to be fully admitted to the program. As an additional benefit, these graduate assistantships provide some financial support for our students during their time in the program.
Please visit our Graduate Assistantship website to view a list of Assistantship areas and to download a copy of the graduate assistantship application.
Exceptions
Part-time students do not have to obtain a graduate assistantship to be admitted into the program. However, an applicant's current work must be in an area related to the field of Student Affairs. The CSA program coordinator will determine whether an applicant's employment will fulfill this requirement. For more information contact Dr. Wilma Henry, program coordinator.
Financial Aid:
Financial assistance is available through the Graduate School, the College of Education, the Office of Financial Aid or external sources. It is wise to check each of theses sources to become fully aware of the programs for which you may qualify.
In addition, students that are accepted into the program, as full-time students, are eligible for tuition waivers if they are Florida residents upon applying. These tuition waivers cover all in-state tuition; however, students are responsible for paying all remaining fees and any un-waived portion of their tuition. For more information regarding Residency please visit the Registrars Office webpage.
