Mission Statement

The Department of Psychological and Social Foundations Contributes to the overall mission of the College of Education and the University of South Florida. The Department consists of five distinct program areas: College Student Affairs, Counselor Education, Educational Psychology, School Psychology and Social Foundations. The Department is committed to:

  • The development and support of high quality programs that prepare outstanding scholars, practitioners, and leadership professionals for schools and other educational and human service institutions;
  • The creation of a context in which high quality research/scholarship by faculty and graduate students contributes to the solution of practical problems in educational and other human service contexts;
  • The development of collaborative partnerships among faculty, students, and schools/community agencies to facilitate research and improve professional practice.
