Allen E. Ivey, Ed.D.
Harvard University
Professor
Dr. Allen Ivey,
best known for his "microcounseling" model received
his bachelors degree from Stanford University in 1955
and spent a year as a Fulbright student at the University
of Copenhagen, Denmark in 1955-56. In 1959 he received
his doctorate from Harvard University in counseling
and guidance. Dr. Ivey is current Distinguished
University Professor in the School and Counseling Psychology
Program at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst.
He has authored of co-authored approximately 200 articles
and books, translated into 11 languages. Dr. Ivey's
most recent work is in "developmental counseling and
therapy" which focuses on how to integrate developmental
theory into clinical and counseling practice.
Mary Bradford Ivey, Ed.D.
University of Massachusetts
Professor
Dr. Mary Bradford Ivey has two areas of
expertise and experience - independent consulting and
school guidance. She earned her doctoral degree
in organizational development at the University of Massachusetts
where she worked closely with Kenneth Blanchard, author
of the well-known One-Minute Manager. She
has written and lectured on issues in organizations
in Mexico, Australia, Japan, Hong Kong, New Zealand,
and throughout Europe. She has co-authored five
books and a number of articles and videotapes, translated
into several languages. Her latest book, Counseling
and Psychotherapy: A Multicultural Perspective illustrates
how to integrate multicultural theory with traditional
psychodynamic, cognitive-behavioral, and existential-humanistic
thought.
