Teacher Preparation
for Elementary, Middle,
and Secondary Schools
Students may pursue
a two-year program of study in physical education to qualify
for Florida certification for teaching grades Kindergarten through
12th.
The two-year programs are offered beginning in the junior year
and includes mandatory attendance during the summer session
between the junior and senior years. Students can enter during
Fall Semester of each year only. Students proceed through the
program in cohorts and are required to complete all the required
courses each semester with a grade of "C-" or better
in order to progress to the next semester. Students who do not
complete the requirements will be dismissed from the program
and may re-apply for the next cohort.
In addition to applying
to the University, all students must apply directly to the Department
and meet the admission criteria for the College of Education.
NOTE: Students intending to be employed in public School settings should be aware of the College policy on arrests and convictions.
