Health and Exercise Science Laboratory
The Health and Exercise Science Laboratory (HES Lab) is located within the School of Physical Education and Exercise Science at the University of South Florida. The HES Lab functions to measure psychological and physiological variables within the context of aerobic exercise. Research in the lab aims to better understand the exercise experience with the end goal of improving acute exercise experiences and long-term exercise adherence. The HES Lab allows for testing of aerobic capacity on cycles and treadmills using contemporary metabolic equipment.
Current Research Projects
- The effects of wearable weights on physiological and perceptual responses to exercise at varied intensities.
- The effects of varied intensities and cool-down periods on perceived exertion and affective responses to exercise.
