Data Files for Applied Statistical Analysis

Data sets for course projects, homework assignments, and other general practice in data analysis are provided on this page. These data have been extracted from public release data files provided as part of national and international survey projects: Schools and Staffing Survey, National Survey of Graduate Faculty, Trends in International Mathematics and Science Study, and National Education Longitudinal Study .

Each data set is provided here as an ASCII (plain text) file. The file layout information (variable names, locations on data records, and coding of values) is provided in the PDF file accompanying each data set.

Both small samples (approximately 400 cases) and large samples (from 700 - 4000 cases) are available. The small samples have complete data records only (no missing data), while the large samples include records with missing data on many of the variables.
