General Knowledge Test (GKT)

Please see the Admission Requirements webpage.  The General Knowledge Test (GKT) is required so register as soon as possible for the earliest available test.  We recommend that the GKT is completed prior to admission.  It is required by the beginning of your second semester. Original copies of score reports must be submitted to the Student Academic Services Office (EDU 106).  Copies will no longer be accepted.

In addition to coursework, Comprehensive Exam, and any other department requirement, passing scores on ALL sections of the FTCE (Florida Teacher Certification Exam) are required.  The FTCE includes Professional Ed. test (PEd), Subject Area Test (SAE), and GKT.  GKT can be waived if CLAST was passed prior to July 1, 2002. 

-----SAE Elem. K-6 and PeD must be passed in order to graduate. 

-----GKT must be passed prior to first semester.
