Department
of Adult, Career and Higher Education

The
vision of the Higher Education program is to become Florida
's first and foremost higher education graduate degree program.
Our mission is to prepare educational administrators and faculty
who seek employment or promotion in universities, four-year
colleges, community colleges, state agencies, associations
and other settings related to the field of higher education.
The Chronicle of Higher Education reported November 16, 2007 that our Higher Education program was ranked 10th among the nation’s top research universities, measured by its score in Faculty Scholarly Productivity Index - an index that compiles overall institutional rankings on 375 universities that offer Ph.D. degrees.
There
are three separate doctoral degree options in the community college
and higher education areas - the Ed .D. in Educational Leadership
with a Community College emphasis, the Ph.D. in Higher Education
Administration, and the Ph.D. in Higher Education with emphasis
in College Teaching. Moreover, the program offers a Master
of Arts degree in Community College Teaching.
