Career and Workforce Education (Ph.D.)
At a time when globalization and technology have changed the way we work, the connections between education, work, and the economy have become more evident than ever. Long gone are the days when education operated in isolation and youth had jobs assured even with minimum technical skills.
Communities, states, and entire nations now depend on coherent
systems linking education, work, and the economy to educate,
sustain, and develop the current and future workforce. In turn,
a new generation of professionals who understand these system
connections is needed in academia and other venues to produce new related knowledge and think through policy development. A doctorate in Career and Workforce Education will open the door
to emerging and rewarding career opportunities in this field.
