Overview/Online Delivery/Admission/Program Outline
Education Specialist in Vocational Education (Ed.S.)
The Education Specialist (Ed.S.) degree is designed for practitioners interested in broadening and advancing their knowledge and skills in career and workforce education. The program prepares professionals for leadership positions in K-12 schools, postsecondary education, and other settings where career and workforce education is organized and delivered either formally or informally. This is an advanced graduate degree beyond master’s level preparation and one step below a doctoral degree. The Ed.S. degree is offered as a concentration in the area of Curriculum and Instruction and requires a minimum of 36 credit-hours of post-master’s degree work. Although it is considered a terminal degree, students enrolled in the Ed.S. program and graduates who desire to pursue doctoral studies either in Career and Workforce Education or other areas at USF, can do so but must apply for admission to the doctoral program of interest and must satisfy corresponding admission criteria.
