  • Dr. Daniel Eadons, Ed.D., December 2010, Educational Leadership and Policy Studies, was recently hired as a visiting assistant professor at the University of Southern Mississippi. Dr. Eadons research interests include educational leadership preparation, organizational leadership, and the principalship.

  • Sara T. Carroll named is Florida’s Economic Educator of the Year for 2006 as well as the Gus A. Stavros Center's Economic Educator of the Year. 
  • Betsy Chesno Grier is the recipient of the 2006 Outstanding Contributions to the Field of School Psychology Award for the State of South Carolina. A 2001 graduate with a Ph.D. in School Psychology and an emphasis in Family Systems Consultation and Pediatric School Psychology, Betsy is an Assistant Professor in Clinical Pediatrics at the Developmental Pediatric Clinic, University of South Carolina School of Medicine.  
  • The USF College of Education was well-represented at the finals for Hillsborough County Teacher of the Year. The USF College of Education had two Alums and two current students in the top ten finals, and the College donated a $2,000 scholarship to the winner.

  • Sue Bean received the "Teacher of the Year Award" for Pasco County at an awards ceremony in November 2005.  Sue graduated from the USF College of Education in 1998 with a Master's in Special Education -- Behavior Disorders.  She is currently a teacher of pre-kindergarteners with disabilities at Cypress Elementary.  Sue's principal says, "Sue's expertise within the classroom is a dynamic performance to observe."

  • Gary Goff, a 2004 Ph.D. graduate in Educational Leadership, was recently named President of Roane State Community College in Harriman, TN. Goff is the first ever Community College President to emerge from USF's College of Education.

  • Mellissa Alonso graduated in 1992 Magna Cum Laude with a BA in Elementary Education. Mellissa currently works at Valrico Elementary in Valrico, FL and was recently named the 2004-2005 Hillsborough County Schools Teacher of the Year.

  • Ross Webster graduated with a BS (1992) and an MA (2003) in Secondary Education. In 2005 Ross was honored with two Teacher of the Year Awards, one from his colleagues at Blake High School and the other from the Florida Council of Vietnam Veteran's of America for his course on the Vietnam war.
