ESOL Requirements:

for students in Math Education, Physical Education, Science Education, Social Science Education, Music, and Reading

Future teachers of Math, Science, Social Studies, Physical Education, Art, and Music take one course to meet the state ESOL requirements.

Required Course: TSL 4324 - ESOL Competencies and Strategies

They do NOT obtain an ESOL endorsement.

The ESOL course required for these teachers is TSL 4324 - ESOL Competencies and Strategies (formerly FLE 4365)

This course meets the 60-hour ESOL education requirement for Category II and III teachers as determined by the Florida Department of Education – This course does not grant an ESOL certification, however no further certification or course work is required at this time for Category II and III teachers.
