Tuition
For information about the
tuition and fees for USF courses, please see Purchasing
and Financial Services.
Tuition waivers are available those who secure a position as a Graduate
Assistant.
Grants
Beginning Fall 2003,
graduate students are eligible for USF Grants (direct financial aid,
not loans) that, until now, had been reserved for
undergraduates. In order to qualify, you must complete a
FASFA form by MARCH 1, 2003. You can obtain the
form at FAFSA.
This award may total up
to $2000 per year for full time study. Pro-rated amounts are
also available for part time students. Full time enrollment
is 9 or more hours per semester; part time is 5-8 credits.
Scholarships
and Fellowships
There are a number of
scholarships and fellowships available for
graduate study through the central Financial Aid Office.
Scholarships and fellowships are awards made based on outstanding
credentials and are not loans and do not require a work assignment. An
overview of the financial aid opportunities can be found at Scholarships
Information. Specific programs that may be of interest include:

Assistantships
Applicants and currently enrolled graduate
students can be considered for research, administrative, and teaching
assistantships. Assistantships, unlike scholarships and fellowships,
require a teaching, research or administrative assignment and therefore
the student must have the credentials and prior experiences to perform
the tasks. The compensation is typically around $10/hour for Masters
level and $12/hour for doctoral level assistantships. In
addition, the student is provided a tuition waiver.
Loans
There are federal loans
for graduate study.
