These activities should be completed using the Authorware 4 Working Model software that is provided with the course text and then submitted to the course instructor as attachments to an email message.  (You may also use the full version 7 if you have it, but do not use other versions of Authorware.) When a course activity is received it is evaluated by the instructor. If the activity is correctly done then the student will receive a return email message from the instructor confirming completion.  For incorrect activities, the student will receive a return email message from the instructor providing feedback, with the expectation that the student will revise and resubmit the activity until it is correct.

Each activity described in this section, when completed, creates one or more screens that are commonly found in computer based learning environments. For each activity there is a description of what elements the screens should contain as well as a flow chart from an Authorware program that when launched would display the appropriate screens. Also indicated is the chapter or chapters in the text (Authorware: An Introduction to Multimedia, by Simon Hooper, or The Official Guide to Authorware 4, by Nick Roberts) that discuss topics relevant to the activity. (IMPORTANT NOTE: Activity One is a good test to see if you have the prequisite skills for this course. Begin Activity One as soon as possible. If you experience difficulty with installing software, using Authorware to complete the activity, or emailing the activity to the instructor, then you should drop this class.)

LEFT column activities are designed to give you practice in applying key skills and knowledge. You should complete them until you are satisfied, but only send them to the instructor if you have problems with them or have specific questions about them.

RIGHT column activities build upon the odd activities, layering on additional key skills and knowledge. When completed, these are the benchmark activities that should be submitted to the instructor by email at vbmail@coedu.usf.edu as an email attachment.
