Course Description
In this course you will develop your
own philosophy and instructional approach to the teaching of English at
the high school level. Your philosophy will include your answers
to such questions as (1) What's worth knowing and doing in English? (2)
How do students learn? and (3) What is the teacher's role or function?
Since "Good teaching is knowing the available options," you will also learn
of the various instructional options or strategies that are available to
you in your teaching of the English Language Arts. Using those strategies
that reflect your philosophy of teaching, you will plan instructional lessons
and units that accomplish specific and worthwhile objectives.
