Faculty and Staff

The Center is fortunate to have personnel working with the center with a vast array of skills and research interests. Although primarily staffed with a full-time director and Research Assistants, all faculty members of the Measurement and Research Department are involved with various projects undertaken by the center. Two members of the faculty are intricately involved with center’s activities and are included in the list below. If you would like more information on a specific project, please contact either the Director or one of the team members listed on the project page.

Liliana’s interests include collaborative evaluation, multi-cultural and international evaluation capacity building, metaevaluation, and project management.

Aarti's interests include program evaluation, research methods, as well as reform in teacher education, preparation, and professional development programs.

Teresa Chavez

Teresa's interests are in measurement, instrument design and development, assessment, and data analysis.

Tom Lang

Tom’s interests include quantitative data analysis, integration of technology in assessment and measurement, and SAS programming.

Corina Owens

Corina's interests include research design and methods, program evaluation and applied statistics, as well as test development, specifically educational testing.

Bryce's interests include educational accountability, value-added modeling of school/teacher effects, collaborative evaluation, metaevaluation and Christian research.

Heather Scott

Heather's interests comprise instrument development, program evaluation, applied statistics, both quantitative and qualitative research design, and child development.

Yi-hsin's primary research interests are in the theories and applications of new cognitive-psychometric models that combine cognitive psychology with modern psychometrics. In addition, he is interested in the applications of advanced linear models in secondary data analysis.

Robert F. Dedrick, Ph.D.
dedrick@tempest.coedu.usf.edu

Bob's research interests include the use of structural equation modeling to examine measurement quality of psychological instruments, the analysis of change using hierarchical linear modeling, and mentoring in doctoral education.

Constance V. Hines, Ph.D.

Connie's research interests include the application of statistical methods to educational data, the measurement of teacher behavior and factors that mediate the effect of teacher behavior on student achievement.

John Niles, Ph.D.
jniles@tempest.coedu.usf.edu

John's research interests include studies associated with the gender academic gap and at- risk populations.
