College Assistance Migrant Program The College Assistance Migrant Program (CAMP) is administered through the Center for Migrant Education in the Department of Special Education at the University of South Florida. It is designed to assist eligible participants from migrant and seasonal farmworker backgrounds in completing their first year of college and transitioning to complete their undergraduate degree. Students participate in a College Enrichment Seminar, mid-semester and end-of-semester professional seminars and bi -weekly individual conferences. CAMP provides a comprehensive program designed to meet the specific needs of each student in the areas of recruitment and pre-enrollment, academic support, tuition assistance, residential living, career development, mentorship, and cultural and community enrichment. Student progress and learning skills are monitored through the Academic Skills Program (ASP). The ASP is designed to assist students in obtaining prerequisite academic skills, study skills and cognitive learning strategies to become self-sufficient learners. ASP personnel provide assessment and intervention programming developed in order to assure that each student's program is individualized according to specific needs. ASP staff work cooperatively with university instructors to assure that student performance is maximized. Community and business liaisons between the CAMP Program and state and local business and community organizations provide career awareness and mentoring to optimize the potential for ultimate professional success.
