All Applications are due on Friday, October 11th.

Eligibility
Program enrollment is restricted to students in the Department of Childhood Education and Literacy Studies in the College of Education at USF.

Students who are interested in the BSE as an internship option should have a strong understanding of early childhood or elementary teaching methods in literacy, maths (British term for math), and science. We recommend completion of the majority of methods courses in addition to the following criteria:

  • Elementary Education majors must have Level I and Level IIa Completed
  • Early Childhood majors must have Level II internship completed.
  • MAT in Elementary Education students must be ready for practicum (Level II).
  • Masters, Educational Specialist, or Doctoral level students in Reading/Language Arts need program approval.
  • Masters and Doctoral level students in Early Childhood Education need program approval.
  • Masters level students in Elementary Education need program approval.

Selection Process
Program participants are selected by the Program Faculty Directors in consultation with academic advisors and based on the quality of the individual’s academic and professional experiences. Qualified students may be interviewed and asked to demonstrate a mini-lesson about Florida or the United States (history, culture, climate, etc.).
Students will be selected based on the following criteria:

  • Strong academic record
  • Demonstrated teaching expertise
  • Interest in and enthusiasm for teaching and learning
  • Global perspectives

Notification of Acceptance
All applicants will be notified through email regarding their application status. Notifications will be sent by October 25th
