Preface

 

This guidebook celebrates the fortieth anniversary of the publication of Walden Two.  It offers a series of illustrations, definitions, summaries, and exercises describing B. F. Skinner's utopian community.

 

It can be used before or after reading Walden two. Or it can be read on a unit-by-unit basis, simultaneously with the comparable sections of that book.. All numbers in parentheses in this guidebook refer to pages in the 1976 reissued edition of Walden Two, except for those at the ends of the summaries, which refer to chapters.

 

These materials might have been prepared by T. E. Frazier or any other member of Walden Two, eager to describe the community to other interested persons.  But instead it was the author's privilege and pleasure to earn his labor credits in this way.
