Rick
Austin (Ph.D) Associate Professor of Mathematics Education,
completed his doctoral study at the University of Florida and was
previously a faculty member at the University of Tennessee in Knoxville
before joining USF in 1990. His
research interests are related to the use of technology in mathematics
education and the use of literature to engage middle school students in
studying mathematics
Helen
Gerretson (Ph.D.), Assistant Professor of Mathematics Education, joined the faculty in Fall 2004. She completed her doctoral study at
the University of Florida and has been on the faculty at the University
of Northern Colorado
Gladis
Kersaint (Ph.D.), Associate Professor of Mathematics Education,
joined the faculty in 1998. She
completed her doctoral studies at Illinois State University.
Her research interests include teacher education and development
and the mathematics achievement of minority and at-risk children.
Denisse
Thompson (Ph.D.),
Professor of Mathematics Education, completed her doctoral study at
the University of Chicago and joined the faculty in 1990. Her research interests include curriculum development,
assessment issues, and the use of literature in the teaching of
mathematics.
