Perceptions of Mathematics Learning Environments and Academic Efficacy in Urban Classrooms

While many variables contribute to a student’s sense of academic efficacy, it is plausible that the quality of the classroom environment in a particular subject area (math, for instance) is related to the perceived academic efficacy in that subject area. This study aims to investigate the closeness of that relationship in middle and high school math classrooms (e.g. honors, regular, and special education). Specifically, this project will present a cross-classroom study of student’s perceptions of classroom environment and academic efficacy.
